Meet the DEI Team

CASA takes firm action to establish and cultivate our long-standing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. These actions will strengthen our culture and foster an inclusive, bias-free and equitable community. To ensure that each member of our league understands that the ideals of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are essential to our organization, we ask that our members pledge to act off the field, how we do on the field; with a fierceness of character, determination, leadership, focus, passion and commitment to EVERY MEMBER OF THE TEAM.

Yunio Martinez (he/him/his)

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Officer : Ymartinez@phillysoccer.org

"Soccer, for me, is a place to leave my problems aside, play the sport I love, and meet new friends. I have played soccer in Philly since I moved here from Guatemala. Eight years ago, I joined the LGBTQIA soccer club (Philadelphia Falcons). I have served on the Falcons board for 8+ years, and I am happy to say that in 2021 I became CASA Soccer League's first ever DEI Officer! The community has shown an immense amount of support for our first years DEI initiatives and I am excited to see what the future holds"

Jess Eskow (she/her/hers)

DEI support, Women's & Non-Binary Pickup Coordinator, Events Team : jeskow@phillysoccer.org

"Hi! I'm Jess, pronouns (she/her) I'm the Women's and Non-Binary Pick-Up Coordinator and I've been with CASA since the Kicking Out Transphobia Tournament in 2021. I've officially worked in the DEI field since 2017 but I've always taken a stance against hate and bigotry. I came out as trans the day after the 2016 election because I was done with being afraid and since then I've been dedicated to creating and organizing safe spaces and working with communities across Philadelphia and beyond. Football/Soccer is the world's game and it belongs to everyone. I'm from a very rural area and I grew up witnessing firsthand how much damage is caused by othering. No one should feel like an outcast because of who they are and I will always fight for that. "

Kristin Lepley (she/her)

Director of Women's & Non-Binary Soccer & DEI Liaison : klepley@phillysoccer.org

"Kristin here! I've been playing in CASA for 6 years now and volunteering closely for the past 2. My current, main role is the Director of Women's & Non-Binary Soccer where I strive to expand the Women's soccer community in the Philly, South Jersey, and hopefully soon, Boston areas. In the Women's & Non-Binary Division, we welcome all who identify as a female and all who identify as non-binary and feel most comfortable playing amongst female matching players. Throughout all of CASA Soccer League, my goal is to create a safe, inclusive, welcoming space for everyone to feel welcome regardless of skill level. DEI roles are essential for organizations to grow, and I am happy to be helping with that."
